Happy birthday Kory!
So my wife’s good friend Kory turns 34 years old today and I wanted to post a blog about this guy, because he’s sort of like my twin in Spokane.
Sort of.
Kory works for GAF/Elk with Jina, which used to be called just Elk, but we wont get into that whole mess. He lives in Spokane though, which is a place I’ve always wanted to move to, so I’m jealous.
Why does Kory deserve his own blog post just because it’s his birthday? Well, the picture after the jump will be one reason for doing it…
I must admit, I don’t think I have the guts to dress up like someone from KISS. Props to you Kory! Jina thinks it’s the most disturbing picture she’s ever seen, but I think you’re totally cool.
So why is Kory my twin?
First off, he’s a fantasy football nut like me. We usually compare results every week, even though this season has been pretty awful for both of us. He’s an Oakland Raiders fan, which is the only real downside to Kory (albeit a huge one)…but I try to let it go. He’s been suffering about as much as us Cardinals fans lately.
Secondly, he’s a huge Damages fan. Of all the people who read this blog (and you know who you are), only one of them took my recommendation about Damages to heart. Thanks Kory,I APPRECIATE you.
He’s also a huge into Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Lost and The Office. Just that fact alone makes him worthy of having an entire blog post dedicated to him.
On a more personal note, the guy is a great friend to both of us and he’s pretty much promised to protect and defend Jina whenever the company puts on these big business trips and they have to travel. So thanks for that Kory. I think only one crazy person has been able to accost her, so you’ve been mostly reliable.
The OTHER thing we both have in common is how much we think Jina is annoying and not very funny. She made a list of the Top 34 reasons to celebrate Kory’s birthday, and no matter HOW MUCH she tried to tell me how funny it was…it just wasn’t. Kory agreed. Ironically, his wife enjoyed it. Weird.
Nice try though babe. We still love you. You may have been funnier than me a long time ago, but that shoe is on another foot now…or something.
(I’m kidding, the list was awesome, and Jina is VERY funny…and not really that annoying)
The 34 reasons is because he’s that old. So close to 35…yikes. I still have a few more years for that, but now Kory has like 364 days and 12 hours or something. Brutal.
So I think Kory’s had a pretty great birthday so far. Jina has made many people in her company jealous because she always celebrates her “birthday week”, and makes everyone else participate. It’s a lot of pressure. Also a lot of fun if you have the energy to stick it out.
Kory wanted in on that action, so he got an entire week devoted to his birthday. Everyone should have that once in their life I think, so Kory just used up his chance. Was worth it though I’ll bet.
So sit back Kory, smoke a cigar, watch your Raiders continue to suck, our fantasy teams continue to suck and enjoy your awesome birthday. If you are looking for something fun to do today, maybe you can play Kevin’s game from the Office:
