Journeyman rocks and more
Cap’n Schwartz already said it in a blog comment below this one that Journeyman remained strong this week. I would agree. I finished it this morning whilst I ate my breakfast and was very much drawn into it. I normally tend to dislike or get tired of these shows where someone is on some mission every week to help people. Like Highway to Heaven, maybe Quantum Leap was like that, I dunno, I never really watched it. I like the time travel aspect, but I was worried that I’d get tired of him fixing relationships or things like that.
But the way they do it, which is usually following someone along at different points of time in their lives, is pretty intriguing. Monday’s episode was great, had a nice side story and tried to reveal more of our two time travelers. Why is Olivia traveling through time? Is she following Dan? There was an interesting clue when Dan mentioned that she got on the plane, but somehow got off. Was she rescued somehow? I can’t wait to find out more. This could be my favorite new show of the season so far.
Chuck was good, although I think the helicopter scene was a bit much and not very funny. I still enjoyed it and especially the little tip-your-hat to Lost. Not sure if you noticed, but the scene in which Chuck is looking at images and remembers things, he says “Oceanic Flight 815 was shot down by…”
I immediately yelled “That’s Lost!”
Hilarious. Gotta love how ingrained Lost has become in the pop culture world.
Heroes was okay as well. The Peter storyline needs to end soon, I can’t bear him not knowing who he is any longer. Although for some reason it’s kind of interesting seeing him discover his powers again. That character to me is the best on the show, the most interesting and the most powerful. I just hope there is something awesome in store for Peter because of what he can do.
The two Hispanic twins trying to cross the border had their powers a bit more revealed, although we aren’t sure exactly what they are. All I can tell is that separating them causes the girl to lose control of her ability which kills people with some kind of black goo, reminiscent of the X-Files black oil.
Oh, and Claire growing a toe back was awesome. Hiro’s little discovery of Kensai’s self-healing was cool and I loved how he used his powers to scare those ninja’s away. Although, I think when he saw Kensai about to be shot with arrows, he normally could have stopped that.
But I guess that means we’d never know about Kensai’s ability.
What did you think of last night? Haven’t watched Prison Break yet.
