Prison Break, Chuck, Journeyman and Always Sunny

Journeyman castAs always, spoilers will be present below.

Monday’s are nearing Thursdays as my favorite night for TV shows, but mainly it’s because of Journeyman. It’s really, for some odd reason, one of my favorites so far this year. I say odd because it just has a look and feel like a show that really shouldn’t be that good. The idea behind it seems too “Quantum Leap” and the actors never heard of before.

But dang if it isn’t absolutely addicting every week. I look forward to it more than anything else on Mondays.

Last night’s episode was no exception.

Journeyman

True, it did have a “Back to the Future” flavor to it…having to complete the timeline by making sure Dan and Katie spent the night together, thus ensuring a future. It was cool though how it worked out and I loved how you found out they got together. It wasn’t just a flashback, but really a flashback with Dan living part of it again. A sweet twist.

And Olivia appearing at their house to grab the money. My big question is: Who is controlling these guys? Someone knows how the future will turn out and is changing it. At any given time, they also know the current situation and what to do about it. Dan needs money, so bam, Olivia is taken to a place with money.

It looks like next week we get more of the Tacheon Man, so hopefully we get some answers.

What about Dan’s brother ratting him out?  That was cold-blooded, but maybe something he felt was necessary. How I wish he was in the loop on all of this.

Prison Break

Okay wow…Prison Break was amazing for the first hour and forty minutes. I was on the edge of my seat during their attempt to break out and I was sure it was going to happen. But blast it all, a freaking cloud came by and ruined everything. I think that with Michael on the ground and Whistler on his way down, they should have just stuck it out. But whatever, they needed to keep us in suspense a bit longer.

It’s frustrating to wait and wait for the eventual escape and then have it torn away from you. This was supposed to be D-Day, but then we discover that four more days will be alright.

Ugh. A great show with a bummer of an ending. And now the prison boss wants out with Michael…should have seen that coming.

And I still think Whistler was going to kill Michael, even if he said he wasn’t.

I still give the show props for some serious nail-biting moments in this one. Even the Mahone story was nerve-racking. What’s going to happen with him? Are they playing him or what? If he wants immunity and was promised it, ask to see the document.

Chuck

We’re still watching this show, although it’s almost reluctantly. Jina told me she read somewhere that you kind of need to watch it for the fun of it, not the realism. That’s an understatement. Let’s see….being chased by gunmen, you stop to load a CD and look at files. Ummm, okay.

Then you make a run for it on your own, but you have time to load it again and call 10 student CIA agents all on campus who come running. Blerg…that was awful.

Still, the overall plot moved along, with us finally knowing why Chuck was kicked out and that Bryce was a good guy to do it. And he obviously sent Chuck the images because he knew his propensity for memory retention.

And do any of us think that Bryce is really dead? I surely don’t.

Always Sunny in Philadelphia

I haven’t talked much about Always Sunny this season, which is probably because it just hasn’t been that great. The show has suffered a major case of the “going too far” syndrome…like they’ve run out of good plot, sort how how I feel about The Office. I hope they get back on track.

There are still the funny moments though. This last week, I forget what happened, but Dee slaps something on the table (maybe a bag of cocaine) and just goes “Boom”.

That killed me.

Well, we lost the HD Feed for chuck too I think, but it wasn't very long. At least, I think we lost it...

Yeah, I remember saying to Jina "I hope this is fixed by the time Heroes starts."
