Strike talks turn into “game of chicken”

Nikki Finki at Deadline Hollywood is all over the negotiations going on between the WGA and AMTPT and while yesterday appeared to be a good omen for an early end to the strike, today was nothing but stall tactics and a “game of chicken” by the AMTPT she says.

She writes:

“Tuesday was the day that the writers and the producers were supposed to start considering “new business” during their resumed contract negotiations. But, instead, they just kept focused on old business. Day #2 was supposed to be “when they really start advancing the ball forward” and “where the rubber can really meet the road,” according to its advance billing. Instead, it was the same old same old.”

Nikki plans on waiting until Wednesday to really let us know what she thinks is going to happen, especially because rumors have been going around the business of a strike end date on December 8th. But if today was any indication of what’s going on, those rumors could be way off base.

Let’s hope things picked up this afternoon and will be better tomorrow.
