Movie Trailer Updates For “Indiana Jones,” The Dark Knight,” and “Star Trek XI”
Internet rumors concerning the first teaser trailers for these three films have being circulating for months. No one knows for sure when we’ll actually see the trailers but there is some new information that gives us a pretty good idea of when we can expect to get our first look at three of the most anticipated films of the coming year.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
The original word was that the teaser for this film would be attached to “Beowulf” when it came out last month. We know now that “Cloverfield” was attached instead. The debut for Indy’s trailer is now February. Paramount has not announced what movie it might be attached to but their biggest release for that month is “The Spiderwick Chronicles” so that would be a good guess. Of course, the Super Bowl takes place just before then so that might be a good time for them to debut a trailer.
Star Trek XI
Speaking of “Cloverfield”… Paramount has chosen to release the first teaser for the next Star Trek film with the monster-takes-Manhattan film on January 18,2008. It’s an absolutely perfect film to attach the sci-fi trailer to as both films will appeal to largely the same audience and opening weekend buzz for “Cloverfield” should be huge allowing for a large number of people to get a look at the new cast.
The Dark Knight
There was a very short, almost nothing teaser trailer for this film attached to “The Simpsons Movie” if I remember correctly. Warner Bros., however, will be releasing a bigger and better trailer for the “Batman Begins” sequel in just two weeks. It will be attached to Will Smith’s “I Am Legend” in standard theaters. Even better than that, however, the studio will be showing the 7 minute opening scene of “The Dark Knight” in front of the screenings of “I Am Legend” in IMAX theaters.
