“The 4400″ and “The Dead Zone” Cancelled?  “Monk” and “Psych” Go High Profile

“The 4400″ and “The Dead Zone” Canceled?

The 4400 The Dead Zone

I’m getting early word that USA has canceled both “The 4400” and “The Dead Zone.”  So far there has been no confirmation from either USA or NBC Universal, but considering what’s going on with “JourneyMan” I figure “The 4400″ is bound to get canceled too since I’ve enjoyed watching it on a regular basis since day one.  I’ll keep you informed.

“Monk” and “Psych” Go High Profile

In other news, USA will be taking a new and unique approach to two of cable TV’s biggest hits ever, “Monk” and “Psych.”  The two shows will return to USA with brand new episodes on January 11, 2008.  They will air new episodes every Friday.  NBC will then begin re-showing those episodes on Sunday nights beginning in March.

The move is expected to gain the shows a much wider audience as even the biggest cable hits do not come anywhere close to garnering the kind of numbers a hit network show can achieve.  Both shows have been on USA for quite a while, though, so I’m not sure if new audiences will get into the shows without having seen the earlier seasons.  Still, it’s not much of a gamble on the part of USA or NBC since the shows are already paid for and NBC isn’t likely to have much content to show with the writer’s strike still showing its effects.

Is “Psych” Funniest Show On TV?

I would like to mention, though, that “Psych” is probably one of the funniest shows on TV.  It’s one of my favorite shows.  If you haven’t seen it, I encourage you to check it out.
