American Idol: Hiccup, drunk Paula is back!

You guys should really feel blessed that you get to read my stuff, because nowhere do you get predictions like you’ll find here. And nowhere do they come true like they did last night.

Die-hards will recall that I posed a specific question a few weeks ago in reference to American Idol, Paula Abdul and drinking.

To quote myself:

WhatÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s the over/under on Paula being drunk during one of the auditions?

I say 5 days.

I hate to brag, but last night’s episode was #5 and Paula showed up drunk. I mean, like silly, sloppy drunk.

Her plane was late so she showed up after the auditions started and it was pretty obvious that Paula likes to have a good time when she flies.

At one point she appeared to be sleeping, she leaned over the table for no good reason (as Simon noted) and then she let out the biggest friggin’ hiccup ever heard on network television.

The hiccup heard round the world.

Simon was horrified and called her a disgusting little pig! Brilliant!

I think it’s hilarious that American Idol does nothing to try and hide the fact that she really has some drinking issues. I mean, after the hiccup, I’m surprised they didn’t get any shots in of her possibly drooling or falling out of her chair, because you know it had to have happened.

Omaha, Nebraska was pretty fun though and besides Paula, there did seem to be some talent there. I liked the Norah Jones sounded girl, although she needs some confidence.

And that guy who bought them all presents and will apparently be on Fox 42’s Idol red carpet. I don’t even really know what that means, but good for him. He had no belief he’d make it to Hollywood, because the request for the red carpet audition was out of his mouth before the judges told him he couldn’t sing.

Are you guys enjoying this season of American Idol? Simon is much nicer this year, for some odd reason, so I feel like it’s missing something.

But at least drunk Paula is back…we missed her.
