AML’s top DVD releases for 1/29/08
Finally, we get a great week for DVD releases. It’s like the year for those that love to stay home and rent stuff finally started. Granted, we have gotten 3:10 to Yuma in 2008, but other than that, it’s been pretty bleak.
So why waste any time? Let’s get into the GOOD stuff.
Well, it’s about time this came out on DVD and for those that are hating what’s on television right now, this is the thing to watch. If you are looking for a great mystery, with tense moments, superb acting and a sweet finish, you’ve come to the right place.
Rose Byrne, Glenn Close and Ted Danson are amazing in this serial-like law mystery that has murder, lying, cheating, depositions and enough OH MY GOD moments to keep you happy all 13 episodes.
To make it better, it’s also out on Blu-Ray. Of course, that’s doesn’t help ME at all…
It’s a must-rent.
The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters
This is a documentary, and if you haven’t seen any of the good documentary’s that have come out in the last few years, you are missing out. King of Kong is the tale of a guy who sets the world record at Donkey Kong, but has it immediately challenged by his peers.
I haven’t seen this year, but it’s on my must-list and I’m so pumped it’s out. The reviews have been pretty strong for it. In fact, it’s got a sick 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Curb Your Enthusiasm - The Complete Sixth Season
I’ve never seen an episode of this show, only bits and pieces, but I hear wonderful things about the latest from Larry David and I’m sure this sixth season is pretty hilarious.
It’s another TV series to add to the must-list.
Groundhog Day - 15th Anniversary Edition
I absolutely love this movie and could watch it over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over…and well, you get the idea.
Bill Murray is one of the funniest comedians ever and this new edition has some cool stuff in it:
- Commentary by director Harold Ramis
- The Study of Groundhogs: A Real Life Look at Marmots
- A Different Day: An Interview with Harold Ramis
- Making of Documentary
- Weight of Time documentary
- Newly discovered deleted scenes
And here are the rest of them:
