Battlestar Galactica: Season 3 out on DVD March 25th

Back in October I wrote up a blog about the unfortunate news that Battlestar Galactica: Season 3 wouldn’t be out until April, 2008. It didn’t make a whole lot of sense at the time, especially since it wouldn’t give fans time to watch it before Season 4 started.

Well, TVShowsOnDVD.com has discovered that the Battlestar Galactica: Season 3 DVDs will be released on March 25th instead of sometime in April!

With the premiere data of Season 4 still up in the air (some think it will be March before we first get to see new episodes), this news is fantastic.

Hopefully Season 4 will start in late March so that people will have a chance to catch up.

The details of the DVD set include 20 episodes on 6 disks, the episode Unfinished Business will have 25 minutes of unseen footage added to it, and all told there will be about 15 hours of bonus materials. Podcasts, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes featurettes and more.

Unfinished Business is the infamous boxing episode, one that some didn’t like, but I really enjoyed. Although 25 more minutes of people busting each other’s heads open might be too much to handle.

The cost is set at $59.98 SRP. You can visit Amazon.com to check when the DVDs are available for pre-ordering.

Check out the artwork for the DVD set below.

NBC/Universal must not want money. How silly was it NOT to have this set ready by X-mas?

  2. [...] already seen some Battlestar Galactica previews for season 4 that’s coming in March, but now we get some season 4 spoilers and a KILLER photo of the cast in a Last Supper [...]

  3. [...] it’s only $38.99 right now, which seems like a smoking deal. The DVD set hits the stores on March 25th and that will give you just over a week before season 4 starts on April [...]
