Help the WGA writers by purchasing cool stuff on auction
Fans4Writers.com has a pretty cool thing going on over there to help raise money for the writers out there who are on strike and not making any cash.
They have an auction going on right now of a bunch of cool stuff, with all the proceeds going to the writers. You can see the thermometer to the right that shows how they’ve done so far as of this blog posting.
Some of the items they have:
- Lost scripts
- Battlestar Galactica autographed soundtracks
- Autographed poster of James Marsters
- A gang shot of the Serenity cast (I’d get this but it’s up to $800! Anyone who wants to buy it for me, feel free!)
- Battlestar Galactica autographed scripts
- “Everybody Lies” t-shirt from House

My cousin, the Cap’n, who comments all the time, just recently burned me a copy of the Battlestar Galactica: Season 2 Soundtrack and it’s pretty awesome. Now you can get that at this auction, but also AUTOGRAPHED by the COMPOSER!
Wow.

The Trousered Apes last...
Fantastic - so the Cap’n burned you a copy of the soundtrack, which is taking money from the artist, and you are posting about auctions to help give money to the artist’s that are striking. Yeah, I realize that they are different artists - composer verses writer, but still, have you no shame man?

The Cap’n says for sake of this article, that he made a backup of his soundtrack that he bought and his letting his cousin MO ‘borrow it’ for an indefinite amount of time. So in essence without that, the artist received no money, and thus no extra word of mouth of his fantastic product as MO would never have heard it to rave about.

…and if you haven’t seen it yet, make sure you see the Extended Edition of Razor on DVD, its simply awesome!!!
You could probably make a back-up copy and keep it in your off-site “storage” area for safe keeping…
