Talk about a slight blunder on the part of Mike Huckabee, a GOP hopeful, he apparently has a staff that doesn’t read this blog, or any blog or any news site to actually keep their candidate informed on what is going on in the world.
Huckabee crossed WGA picket lines Wednesday afternoon to be on the Jay Leno show, amidst total confusion about who struck a deal with the Writer’s Guild of America.
Huckabee said he supports the writers and did not think he would be crossing a picket line, because he believed the writers had made an agreement to allow late-night shows on the air. That’s not the case with Leno, and pickets outside Leno’s Burbank, Calif., studio targeted Huckabee.
“Huckabee is a scab,” read one picket sign.
Opps. That can’t be good for your image at the beginning of the Presidential Primaries. More:
Late Wednesday, the Writers Guild of America issued a statement saying that the guild “thanks the former governor for his strong statement of support for striking writers and hopes that he will not cross the picket lines at NBC.”
However, Huckabee appeared on the show despite the calls from the striking writers, according to NBC.
Wow. I mean, it was pretty obvious to anyone that only David Letterman and Craig Ferguson had struck deals with the WGA, so how could you totally ignore that?
Whatever the reason for what he did, this is absolutely hilarious to me.
I’m off to watch Letterman, who apparently had a hilarious show tonight. From MSN, they had this highlight:
During his monologue, stagehand Biff Henderson interrupted Letterman to say, “When are the writers coming back?”
“They’re back, Biff,” Letterman said.

That’s too bad for Huckabee - not sure how he was not made aware of that. His people need to be better informed - that is sort of disturbing if they can’t even figure something out as easy as the WGA strike.

Hillary Clinton is no better than Huckabee. In the Clinton world it is ok to cross “a sort of kind of” picket line. Anyone going on the Letterman show is just as guilty as going on the Leno show as lines are still being crossed here. Funny how the media still plays this down…. Moreover, how can unions continue to back Clinton?????
It’s not crossing the lines on Letterman, they have an agreement with the WGA.
