Monday morning quarterback
Yeah, we talk a lot about television and movies, and Battlestar Galactica and Lost, but it’s still FOOTBALL season and at least none of those players are on strike.
The first real week of the playoffs is in the books and I have to say it kind of ended on a downer for me as the Indianapolis Colts lost to San Diego in a pretty sad performance by the Colts.
I had high hopes that if Jacksonville couldn’t beat New England, at least Indy was going to be there to put a stop to the undefeated insanity. But now none of that will happen, and I suspect that the Patriots will coast to another championship.
My favorite moment though of the weekend was Dallas losing and Green Bay winning. Seeing that game up in Green Bay, with the snow falling, was awesome. And it’s just so great to see Brett Favre being amazing one more time. I really hope he makes it all the way.
And it’s also great to see Eli Manning growing up right before our eyes. Earlier this year he was so inconsistent, but ever since the game against the Patriots in Week 17 where they almost beat them, he’s suddenly become a good quarterback.

Yeah, sadly I’m now a Chargers fan and I’d rather not. Although I though Rivers was kind of funny yelling back to the crowd, you are probably right…should have kept his mouth shut.

unfortunately, the Pats will more than likely walk all over the chargers , especially with Rivers and Mr. LT out of the lineup and questionable for next week. Ugh..
But heres hopin farve has some kind of miracle game and pulls out a victory over them (if they can beat the Giants).
My picks going foward: Pats to beat the Bolts. Pack to beat the G-Men. With Favre winning a slim victory here in the desert in February. A girl can dream (or see an oasis in the desert), right?
I was teasing Mrs Capn last night that how lucky Mo is with you watching games with him…. and then she re-used her line again… “Why….” (referring to why would you watch them all) lol…ah well…
Packers vs. Giants - gonna be a close game, but I have to believe the Packers are winning.
Chargers vs. Patriots - gonna be a rout…Patriots going to the Super Bowl.
Being a Packers fan I have to believe that they can win the Super Bowl, but it is not going to be easy. All I know from watching the Patriots during the regular season, they are a beatable team. They have had to come from behind a couple of times in the 4th to win and their defense is spotty at times. I think they Packers with their improved running game and their quick-short passing game can expose the holes in the Pat’s D. They also play the best man-to-man in the league and should be able to hang with the Patriot’s receivers.
But all of that is worthless information if they do not take care of business against the Giants next week at home.
reading these comments is making me ill. i despise the packers and i hope with all the hope in me that they LOSE. i don’t care what happens in the playoffs as long as they are stomped by the giants in the next game. man love for favre has got to end!

I’m still bitter about the Cowboys loss, but at this point I’m pulling for the bolts and the Packers, really as long as it’s not the Pats.

haha, that was funny! you know i’m just messing with you favre worshipers. it’s only b/c the packers are my team’s nemesis. i still have hope for next season though. if my sun devils can finally beat UA in hoops then one day the vikes will trample GB again!

Mike, I’m there with you. I love the Colts and it was awful to see such a sad display. Speaking of sad displays, Philip Rivers getting into shouting matches with the crowd was another one. First he shouts at Jay Cutler after he throws a pick and now this. Hard to root for that guy, but I do hope that the Chargers knock off the Patriots next week.
