Singleton Gives “A-Team” Details

The A-Team Logo
If you’re one of those who got all dizzy with excitement upon hearing that the “Knight Rider” was coming back, I’ll bet you were also excited to hear that 80s heavyweight TV show “The A-Team” is getting the big screen treatment with none other than director John Singleton attached.

There’s so many directions this project could go (most of them down) that I shudder to think of the possibilities.  I did have a moment of fright last week when I heard the news that Ice Cube is actively campaigning to get the role of B.A. Baracus originated by Mr. T himself.  That’s why I was happy to read the interview the guys over at Collider.com managed to snag with John Singleton while he was waiting for his car.

A few of the highlights:

I’m not sure if any of this means the movie will turn out to be watchable or not.  I liked the TV show…in the 80s…not so much now.  Harrelson seems like a good choice to play Murdock.  Let me just go out on a limb here and recommend George Clooney for the role of Hannibal.  I mean, I know he probably wouldn’t do it, but can you think of anyone else that would fit the part better?  Come to think of it, Brad Pitt would make a pretty good Faceman…wouldn’t want to get the whole Ocean’s 11 thing going, though.  Might have to pick someone else.

You already know how I feel about Ice Cube.  Of course, I don’t know who else could play the part.  Actually, I saw Mr. T on a commercial not too long ago and he doesn’t look that old.  Slap some make-up on him and see if he’s ready to go another round.  Who isn’t ready for the return of Mr. T?

The A-Team Van

I’m actually happy they aren’t doing a spoof.  I’m pretty sick of the whole spoofing and making fun of old shows that we actually thought were pretty good at the time thing.  I think it would be much cooler to make “The A-Team” hot again so us old folk (well, I’m only in my 30s but still) can say we watched that show way back when…

What do you think?
