The Conan O’Brien beard is a hot topic

So back in November I posted a little blog about Conan O’Brien and linked to a video that was pretty hilarious and showed that him and his staff were all growing “strike” beards in solidarity with the Writer’s Guild.

Conan O’Brien’s beard has become a hot topic this week, maybe it’s because he’s returning to late night today (Wednesday) or maybe his beard was photographed naked by the paparazzi and obsessed fans need to find pics of it.

They might be up on the Superficial.com, but not here.

My opinion on the whole beard thing is that it’s cool, in fact, I have a beard. And I’m cool.

However, I think choosing to grow a beard in support of a cause is just a great way for a bunch of insecure guys who never have done it before, to do it in a group setting and thus suffer less embarrassment.

It’s like 14 years ago when I was 19 and someone at my summer job said “let’s all grow goatees” and I was like YES! Because otherwise I’d look like an idiot doing that on my own.

Anyways, I was just curious who is searching like mad for Conan O’Brien’s beard and why.

If you weren’t totally aware, Conan and his staff all grew beards for the duration of the WGA Strike, to help support the writers.

Bill below notified me that David Letterman also grew a strike beard, a fact I was sadly unaware of. Check out the photo of him that Bill linked from MSN.com.

I tape Letterman every night, so I would have seen it in a little bit, but thanks for the tip Bill!

Now the big question:

Who looks better with a beard? Letterman or Conan?
