Will Scrubs never have a proper finale?

It’s been tossed around a lot during the Writer’s Strike, but it seems like the longer it gets, the more real the thought becomes.

If the strike doesn’t conclude soon, there wont be any more writing done on shows this season and they’ll end up coming back sometime in the fall starting fresh.

Except for Scrubs.

This the final season for one of my most favorite series in the last 5 years. They had planned a great finish to their run, one they promised would be satisfying to fans everywhere.

Now, if the strike lingers on, none of that will ever happen. There are only five episodes left of the 11 produced this season, and although there is no date yet on when they’ll return, we do know those could be the last five ever.

Zach Braff wrote a bulletin on MySpace today that kind of put the looming news out there for all of us:

Many of you have asked about the fate of the final episodes of Scrubs. If the strike goes on too much longer there is a good chance they will never be written or shot and the series finale will remain in the mind of our show’s creator, Bill Lawrence…

Ugh, what a sad thought. I would really love to see this thing end the way it was meant to.

We’ll see…hopefully this thing ends sooner rather than later.

Braff also posted a link to his YouTube video of his “Speechless” spot in support of the strike. You can see a bunch more by other famous actors and starts by visiting SpeechlessWithoutWriters.com.
