Academy Awards - Oscar Winners For 2007
The Writer’s Strike ended and we got the only awards show that anyone in Hollywood really cares about anyway - the Academy Awards (otherwise known as the Oscars). Jon Stewart did a fair job hosting but I doubt this will go down in anyone’s book as one of the better Oscar ceremonies.
The awards themselves were a little bit all over the place early in the night so it was hard to tell which movie had the upper hand. At one point I was beginning to wonder if I was watching the Oscars or some other International film awards show as it seemed almost every winner was someone from another country. In the end, however, most of the big awards, with the notable exception of Best Actress, went pretty much as everyone had expected.
Winners are in BOLD.

The Coens missed out on a chance to make Oscar history four wins for a single film when they lost in the Film Editing category, for which they were nominated under the pseudonym Roderick Jaynes.
The Coens still had a good night, however, as Best Picture winner, No Country For Old Men, ended up with the most wins with 4 Oscars. Believe it or not, The Bourne Ultimatum won the second most Oscars of the night with 3. There Will Be Blood and La Vie en Rose had 2 Oscars each, but no other movie had more than a single Oscar at the end of the night.
