Matthew Fox says 4-6 more Lost episodes

One of the biggest questions Lost fans have had since it started was whether or not we’d get more episodes once the WGA Strike ends. With things looking very good for the strike to be over fairly soon, that question becomes even more relevant now.
Thanks to Jason Clark, I was pointed towards an article on Collider.com where Matthew Fox talks a bit about what might happen. As bad as things have been, I think the news is pretty good.
Matthew Fox: I think they’re in negotiations about that right now, the studio and Damon, and I think it’s possible that we do 4 or 6 of the 8 that we were supposed to be doing right now. I think we would pick back up and maybe shoot another four this spring, which would give this season a grand total of 12.
The next question, which Fox had no answer for, was whether or not the plot elements from the original final eight episode would be squeezed into the 4 or 6.
If we only get four episodes, mashing eight original stories into half the amount could feel rushed. I’m hoping we get 6 because that seems a lot more doable.
That basically changes the final 48 episodes to only 44 or 46. Which might be good, because some people are worried about the show being dragged out, so a few episodes taken away could help that out.

I said it before and I’ll say it again…if they planned for 8 episodes, do 8. We’ll wait. Everyone’s had a two month vacation. It’s not like they’re overworked. Do the 8 episodes and air them all back to back when they’re finished.
Failing that, at least give us six. To only do 4 would screw up the story immeasurably. There’s no way you could have 8 episodes planned and cram all that info into 4 and have it make sense. It’s just not possible.
