In case you haven’t heard, Judd Apatow is producing another comedy. Yeah, big surprise. Much like the hit Superbad it’s being co-written and stars Seth Rogan. It’s called Pineapple Express and the studio is so hyped on this one they’re lining it up for a summer run.
Pineapple Express is about lazy stoner Dale Denton (Seth Rogen) who has only one reason to visit his equally lazy dealer Saul Silver (James Franco): to purchase weed, specifically, a rare new strain called Pineapple Express. But when Dale becomes the only witness to a murder by a crooked cop (Rosie Perez) and the city’s most dangerous drug lord (Gary Cole), he panics and dumps his roach of Pineapple Express at the scene. Dale now has another reason to visit Saul: to find out if the weed is so rare that it can be traced back to him. And it is. As Dale and Saul run for their lives, they quickly discover that they’re not suffering from weed-fueled paranoia; incredibly, the bad guys really are hot on their trail and trying to figure out the fastest way to kill them both. All aboard the Pineapple Express.
I wasn’t crazy about Pineapple Express when I first read about it or even when I first saw the extended clip. This new Red Band Trailer, however, is really funny. It looks to be a lot more of the same thing we’ve been getting from Apatow and Rogan, but I guess if it ain’t broke…

The video below is a longer version of one of the scenes that is seen briefly in the above trailer. I think the trailer is a lot funnier but this clip hit the net first and helped build some buzz for the film.
