Spongebob Actors Dub Classic Films

By all accounts one of the highlights of the Annie Awards on February 8 was a video put together by the cast of Spongebob Squarepants (yeah, there’s real people behind those cartoons). Annie Awards emcee Tom Kenny, along with presenters Rodger Bumpass, Carolyn Lawrence and Bill Fagerbakke created the short video to prove they shouldn’t be stereotyped simply as Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, and Sandy.

The video contains scenes from the classic films Casablanca, Singin’ in the Rain, and The Godfather. Most of the original dialogue is intact (although done in the voice of the Spongebob characters) - except for a few really funny additions.

  1. OMG - great video! This is a fun time sober or drunk!

  2. This is just gold! What we need next is the Spongebob characters acting out these movies in animated form.

We actually had a comedy show here in Australia that did the same sort of thing. They’d take old 70’s TV series and revoice them. It was very funny, too.

Ian’s last blog post..Lesbian vampire killers

  3. Are any of those shows on the internet, Ian? That would be really funny to watch.
