Top Commentors for January
December was a record-setting month comment-wise for A Mike Life and I was just thrilled to get some of you really starting to participate here more. Because to me, this is an interactive site, where I write about things I like and you like, and then hear back on what you think. That’s what makes this place great.
Well, if December held any high marks before, they are totally gone, wiped out, a distant memory. We had Scott with 41, and The Trousered Ape went a bit nuts with 36 after only 10 the month before.
In January, The Trousered Ape destroyed Scott’s record with a mind-blowing 167 comments!
Not only that, but we also had quite a few others break the old record. We’ll get to them in a second.
With such a talkative keyboard this past month, I asked Ape for a quote that would help us all learn how to be better commentors and enlighten our lives. Something smart, witty and wise.
Unfortunately…this is all we got:
“I’m too busy commenting to give any official statement!”
There you have it. Actually, if you think about it…that tells us all we need to know about how to comment better. Stop goofing around with stuff that doesn’t matter and SPEAK YOUR MIND!
Now, here is how the rest of the Top 5 panned out. I have to say, a great showing by all.
Cap’n Schwartz - 136 comments. His previous was 29, so this was a huge jump. Somehow, I think The Cap’n could do better, I just firmly believe he has a lot more to say.
Jason Clark - 92 comments. This is almost my favorite. Here is Jason’s quote from last month’s Top Commentor’s blog:
Mike, I like you and all, but I’m not even sure I made 41 comments to my WIFE last month! 41 comments is like a short story or novella or something.
I think maybe I can do 31…one a day…that sounds about right. I’m off to a good start. Happy New Years, man!
I hope his wife doesn’t read my blog at all.
Jina - 47 comments. From 14 to 47…nice job babe. She’s starting to get a bit more talkative around here and it’s good. Although some of you still don’t believe that it’s actually my wife doing it, and not me.
Scott - 42 comments. Strong and consistent. Scott’s been busy with life and work, but I appreciate him being a solid contributor.
And I don’t want to ignore all of the others out there that mean a lot to me, so here are the double-digit guys from December:
MichaelB - 31
Frank C. - 23
Steven - 17
Adam - 17
Nicky - 14
Adrian - 12
R.A. Porter - 11
And to all the rest of you, including Kory, Kathy, Matt, Tyler, I thank you for being a part of this site.
I may say it a lot, but it’s true. The best part of A Mike Life is you all being a part of it.
I don’t except any records set in February, but it’s still going to be a great month!
And how can it not be, my birthday is in 8 days!
*grin*

Hey,
I’m happy with an honorable mention! You do an awesome job Mike and always make me laugh! Thank you!
Congrats to the Ape, not even close for the rest of us. Not sure if he was more determined or just had too much free time. ![]()
Scott’s last blog post..Work Smarter; Emphasize Strengths, Don’t Fix Weaknesses
Hi5 (or 5 furry lil fingers) to Ape…
Since I do not have a website or blog to promote, I’m just lettin everyone else win =P
I do look at EVERYONE’S site who posts here though…some good stuff out there
HEY WAIT A MINUTE!!! HOWD YOU FINALLY GET YOUR AVATAR TO WORK DAMMIT!!!
The Cap’n can not figure it out =/
testing for avatar…
Figured it out - it has to do with how I spell my email. It appears that it is case sensitive. That’s a very odd feature…
Spelled the same - yes, but it is case-sensitive. All along I have been spelling it like TheFirstName@MyWebsite.com. But the gravatar came in when I spelled it thefirstname@mywebsite.com.
Go figure.
In order for mine to show up - my email has to be all in lower-case letters, even though the email address is spelled the same. Computers are fussy about those things things - trust me, I spend all day fighting them on those issues…
Ah….got it.
Cap’n…make sure you check the email account you registered with on MyBlogLog and the one you use here when you comment.
The only reason I had 92 comments is because all three of my personalities were leaving comments…one of them without permission…

The Cap’n does not need more to say, he just needs more time in which to say it…
Hey Cap’n - use the schwartz!
