The other day we posted two new Speed Racer (official site) trailers. Both of them were actually International trailers designed for the international market. The trailer below is designed for the domestic U.S. It is different from the previous versions. This one concentrates much more on the story elements of the film.

Okay, this trailer makes me feel better about the movie than the other two did. I had lost some faith in the film after seeing the International trailers. The movie looked way too much like a video game or something. I still see some of those same elements in this trailer, but the live action stuff makes it all seem a lot more real and less like a game. I’m still hesitant to get too excited, but I feel better than I did.
Of course, once this movie comes out everyone’s going to go around saying “cool beans” because of one of the lines of dialog. Can I just say that here in Texas that phrase has been around for a long time. I’m not sure about everywhere else. Please don’t make it the summer’s hot word. It’s really not that cool.
Speed Racer is set to hit theaters on May 9, 2008.
