Eddie Murphy movies often confuse me. They don’t confuse me so much with their complicated plot devices, but more with the question of why Eddie Murphy decided to make the movie in the first place. Don’t get me wrong, Murphy has a lot of good movies. Well, some good movies. Then he has all the others.
This looks like it might be one of the others.
Meet Dave is about a crew of miniature aliens who operate a spaceship that has a human form (Murphy, I’m guessing). While trying to save their planet, the aliens encounter a new problem, as their ship becomes smitten with an Earth woman.
Weird. The IMDB synopis actually makes me feel better about the movie somehow. Maybe it won’t be that bad after all.
I’ll never learn, will I?
Meet Dave opens in theaters on July 11, 2008.
