“Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” (Ice Age 3) Teaser Poster
The poster for Ice Age 3 which is officially called Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs hit the net like a week or two ago. I was going to post it at the time but then I started thinking about what I was looking at and what I had seen in the other films. I was perplexed. Something is “off” with this concept. Oh yeah, I think it’s the fact that dinosaurs actually existed in a time before the events of the previous two films…
After much consideration, I have come to the conclusion that there are only four possibilities for this presumed error on the part of Fox/Blue Sky:
- The writers of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs are no history experts. Hiring anyone who is an expert would have been costly and would have slowed production. Besides, dinosaurs sell tickets and toys.
- Some sort of time travel device is used in the plot of the film. This seems unlikely as all the characters are animals…who do not possess technology…or opposable thumbs.
- Science has it all wrong! The writers of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs sifted through the empirical date and figured out that the animals from the first two films coexisted with dinosaurs immediately following “the meltdown” of the last ice age.
- Kids aren’t really that smart. They probably won’t even notice. Who cares if it screws with the minds of our children and teaches them things that couldn’t possibly be true?
At least the poster is pretty cool.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs opens in theaters on July 1, 2009.
