‘Jericho’ on the bubble as the season nears the finish line

For some reason I don’t write much about Jericho, maybe because I only pick and choose a few shows to write recaps about, but don’t let that fool you. Jericho is one of my must-watch shows every week and this sophomore season has been friggin’ great so far.

And while the show has its critics for being totally unrealistic, I really don’t care. I’ve just come to enjoy this utter fictional world where a nuclear-blasted America finds itself trying to fight for survival.

I love the characters, especially Jake Green, played by Skeet Ulric. He’s just perfect for this role and his character never lacks in toughness and butt-kicking ability. Jericho never holds back either. A week ago they killed off a sweet deaf girl, and this week a man was executed with a single shot to the head.

Hooold on, I’m not saying deaf girls dying is good, I’m just trying to point out that they don’t hold back punches. They are like Lost in a way where people get killed that you didn’t really expect. The girl, the leader of Ravenwood, Jake’s father last year and a few others.

I was worried about season 2 but it’s been very enjoyable. A total “popcorn flick” if there ever was one on television.

Now it only has two episodes left in the season and CBS has a decision to make. Apparently they’ve filmed two endings: One to bring closure to the series and one to give us a cliffhanger until Season 3.

CBS will make their decision pretty quick I guess. The writers of the show made sure to have two endings filmed, because if the show is done, they didn’t want CBS to be pelted with more bags of peanuts to try and save the show a second time.

I’m all for the cliffhanger personally, although a conclusion would be interesting to see.
