It’s been an awfully long time since we’ve seen Mike Myers in a new, live-action comedy. His last few years have been filled with Shrek voice-overs and it’s about time he returned as his real life self.
Of course, in the new trailer for The Love Guru, he really doesn’t even look like Mike Myers as he plays the second-best love guru in all of India. He’s an American raised in India by gurus, returns to the States and tries to help a professional hockey player find his mojo by getting back together with his wife who left him for another player.
The preview pretty much looks like any Mike Myers movie in the last 5-10 years, but I have to say, I love the guy and there is nothing he does that I don’t laugh at. My favorite Myers film is of course So I Married An Axe Murderer, but aside from the first Shrek, it’s been awhile since he’s been in a great comedy.
The craziest thing is that my favorite part of the trailer isn’t even Myers, it’s Justin Timberlake who looks hilarious here.

The poster is pretty funny, nothing spectacular, but it’s Mike Myers, so laugh anyways!
Looks good, but I’m seeing a lot of Austin Powers in this character. Not necessarily a bad thing, plus it has Jessica Alba and Mini-me, can’t go wrong there.
