The CW renews shows, Reaper not so much

My wife (and in a secret way, me) will be pumped to know that the CW has renewed Gossip Girl for a second season. The drama has a pretty dedicated following now with a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 age group. Not blockbuster ratings by a long shot, but with their passionate fanbase behind it, the CW seems pretty confident about it’s future.

Another show I sort of liked was Reaper, a goofy comedy about a kid who’s parents sold his soul to the devil, and now he’s a sort of Ghostbuster for escaped spirits from Hell. Ray Wise plays the devil and he’s pretty hilarious. But so far, it hasn’t been renewed for a second year and the CW might be waiting to see how the remaining 5 new episodes go over once the show returns on April 22nd.

They also didn’t bring back Aliens in America and the wrestling show, WWE SmackDown.

The did renew a couple of other longtime shows though, including Smallville, Everybody Hates Chris, America’s Next Top Model, One Tree Hill and Supernatural.
