Okay, I now have a new movie I’m looking forward to this year. It’s called Blindness and arrives on October 15th.
I’ve liked Julianne Moore for quite awhile now, especially since Children of Men. Now she costars with Mark Ruffalo in a sort of I Am Legend type of thriller where everyone seems to lose their eyesight except her.
The tagline for the movie: “The only thing more terrifying than blindness, is being the only one who can see.”
You can hear that line uttered at the end of the teaser below by Moore herself.
According to IMDB and other places, some disease strikes a town that causes everyone to suddenly go blind except Moore. Her husband is a doctor played by Ruffalo, plus you also have Sandra Oh and Danny Glover included as co-stars.
The preview below is pretty chilling, the poster is awesome. I love how it’s blurry with the title of the film laid out like an eye chart. Clever.
These types of movies always interest me. I Am Legend, The Happening (which is coming soon), etc. End of the world, apocalyptic-like storylines always pull me in, so naturally I cannot wait to see this one.
Watch the preview below and check out the poster further down.

This looks like it could be pretty awesome. I’ve had my eye on it (pun intended) for a while now.
I’m not sure about Sandra Oh, though. When she says “May God help us all” in the trailer it doesn’t sound sincere at all…it made me want to laugh. I just don’t think she’s a very good actress.
Looks pretty good. I am with Jason re Sandra Oh. Not a fan of her.
Oh yeah – wow, this looks pretty good. I can’t wait to see it (lol)…

I could see the letter B on the poster, the rest as too blurry for me to read…
I started to like Sandra Oh after Sideways, and then on Grey’s Anatomy, but yeah, I agree with her scene in this preview looking weird.
Maybe they should play the movie with braille instead of sub-titles? I wonder if that will be a special feature on the dvd/blu-ray release?

Isnt that why they have the reflectors in the middle of the road, so blind people can drive Braille?
Yes it is Cap’n – it’s for safety purposes to make sure blind drivers stay in their proper lanes.

I love drive-through ATM machines that have braille on them…umm, how did you get here in the first place?
I always thought it funny near Atms there is a randomly placed board with Braille on it off to the right or left outside of the ATM area that says “this is placed for the visually imparied”..so they can read the atm layout..but how do they know its there?
Ahhh great minds think alike Mo!
Hilarious
Well, when you’re blind your other senses become heightened so blind people are probably able to “sense” that the signs are there.
Gosh, guys. It was so obvious.

Ahem…Day of the Triffids, anyone? Ok, mobile carnivorous plants aside, that is.
