Don’t miss the Masters MIX on Direct TV

If you are a fan of golfing, or just like to watch it on TV, chances are you will be sat on your couch watching The Masters this weekend. Most people want to see Tiger Woods win and extend his majors streak this year, and hopefully win all four.

I usually end up falling asleep once I turn golf on, but some of you may not and if you stay awake for the entire tournament, you SHOULD try to watch it in style.

I stumbled across this yesterday when I wanted to see the leaderboard. Direct TV has put up a high definition Masters MIX channel that comes complete with a leaderboard and four picture-in-picture displays that are 16:9 ration (high-def) and a selectable audio feed.

The PIP displays show different holes and tournament highlights.

The HD version is on 706, the SD one is 701. The SD one is basically the same, and you should still be able to select the audio feed and also interact with the leaderboard and other such tools.

So if you plan on watching it this weekend and have Direct TV, then make sure you check out these channels. You can easily select one of the PIP displays and tune to that specific channel full screen too.

It’s pretty sweet.

  1. I’m actually watchin that right this very minute…of course I talk to the tv exclaiming, “Yeah, I could do that..”

  2. Being a huge golf fan, I am absolutely loving this new feature! The masters is my favorite of the four majors. I can guarantee you that I will not be far from the TV over the next two days. Saturday is moving day at Augusta so we will see what Tiger can do.

  3. Tiger needs to catch up, that’s for sure.

  4. He should start by remembering his putter. I’m pretty sure he has left it in the car the past two days.

  5. Tigers done this year at this tourny, Go Phil!

  6. Man boobs will find a way to screw it up. As for Tiger, he is never out of it, but he is obviously a long shot at this point. However, if the weather turns south like they say, Tiger is the one guy that can play himself back into contention under those conditions.

  7. I’ll be going for Phil if Tiger can’t do it, as always.

  8. Phillis definitely has the short game to win at Augusta. However, if the leaderboard is crowded come Sunday, I simply do not see his driver holding up on the back nine.

Personally, I think The Goose is due to win. Top 5 in each of the last three years. As they head into the weekend, he is in contention at -2.

  9. @ Kory LOL Man boobs… poor Phil… The mix coverage is awesome , the best is the coverage of Amen corner…

  10. Phillis, Man Boobs…Kory really likes Mickelson :)

  11. Phil is great…local Az boy (well used to be), went to ASU, all around nice guy, how can you not like em!! But I’m with you Mo, I pull for Woods then Mickelson

  12. Forget what I said about his driver, it was his flat stick that left him today. I think his skirt was flying up in his face while he was trying to putt.

  13. and just as I said Woods is done, look at him make a comeback… sweet…he must have had a good breakfast cause he’s playing Grreeeeeeeeattt!

  14. They aren’t even playing yet :)

He’s still 6 behind the leader who is at -11…hopefully that guy chokes today.

  15. Hopefully, the winds kick up today because that will make for an interesting final round.

  16. This looks to be a really great finish today… I’m gonna be glued to it!!! Makes me want to get out and play!
