You all know my love for Kristen Bell, but you may not know that Justin Long is also one of my favorite newish actors to be appearing in more and more mainstream movies.
The first time we ever saw Long was the television show Ed, and you just ended up loving the kid. Nervous, shaky voice, perfectly timed stutters…he continues doing the same great acting to this day. I don’t know what it is about him, but he cracks me up.
He was awesome, and perhaps one of the main reasons Live Free or Die Hard was such a big hit, but check him out in other greats like Dodgeball and very underrated Accepted. He was also in Galaxy Quest, and while I can’t immediately remember what he did in it, I know I remember seeing his face somewhere.
So of course when I hear about Long coming out with a new movie, I’m intrigued. But then coupling him with Kristen Bell, now I’m very interested.
They star in Serious Moonlight, a film written by the late Adrienne Shelly, which doesn’t have a release date yet. Shelly, if you recall, was the writer/director of Waitress, a movie she never saw in theaters as she was killed just before it released.
I loved that film, so her being the writer behind Serious Moonlight gives me hope.
The movie is supposed to be a dark comedy, and there is little news available on it. In reading The Movie Blog and Cinematical, it’s like the film has gotten all the way to post-production without a single press release on casting news or anything.
The plot from IMDB: A high-powered attorney duct tapes her adulterous husband to the toilet … right before their home is invaded by burglars.
If there is a downside to this movie, Meg Ryan is also attached to it, and while I loved her to pieces early on, lately she’s sort of…well…sucked. I think it was the day she woke up and suddenly had huge lips that really ruined her in my eyes, but perhaps here she can make a comeback.
Cheryl Hines is supposedly directing this, which according to IMDB, would be her movie directorial debut.
We’ll stay on the lookout for any photos, posters or trailers that come out about this, and hopefully a release date soon.

In Galaxy Quest, Justin Long played one of the GQ fanboys they used on earth to help them.
Justin was very good in what he is pictured above , Die Hard 4, so heres to hoping this can be good as well.
Cool. He’s a Mac, and she lost her friend Mac.
R.A. Porter’s last blog post..Friday Night Sketch War: Round Nine
Cheryl Hines also starred alongside Adrienne Shelly in Waitress and credited her as the reason the movie didn’t end up being a sappy romantic comedy. I’m sure she’s invested in the outcome, due to their closeness.
This movie sounds like a weird mix…could be interesting.
