Warner Brothers has announced that Ridley Scott has signed on to produce and direct The Kind One, a period noir drama.
Casey Affleck has been attached to star in the film since February. The story is set in 1930’s Los Angeles and centers on an amnesiac (Affleck) who finds himself working for a mobster a sadistic killer given the nickname “the Kind One and falling in love with the thug’s girlfriend.
I was already excited about the possibilities for this film based on Casey Affleck’s casting alone. I think Ridley Scott could bring even more to the table. A nice bonus is the fact that the author of the book the film will be based on, Tom Epperson, is on board to write the screenplay.

It’s great how Casey Affleck has slowly but surely become one of the better actors in Hollywood. Looking forward to this one.

Yeah, Casey is awesome…totally one of my favorites.
I’m definitely with you guys. After seeing him in “Jesse James” last year I’ll definitely go see him in this.
Casey was great in Gone baby Gone, and a note to Jason I just picked up Assination of Jesse James yesterday to watch this weekend. Casey, is a much better than his brother who was one dimensional.
I’ll see it.
@Cap’n - I’m excited. In a strictly cinematic way. Let me know what you think.
