Today is the day my wife has been waiting for ever since we saw the movie last year. Juno finally hits your DVD shelves today and if you want to see it this weekend, I’d suggest running to Blockbuster well before Friday.
We also have aliens, predators, devils, history and exploding bridges. Let’s go!
Juno
As I mentioned, Juno comes out today and it’s going to blow your mind. We have the normal edition, the Blu-Ray edition and the suped-up 2-Disc spectacular version with all kinds of bonus features. Richard Roeper said this past weekend that it has one of the best gag reels he’s seen in awhile.
If you haven’t seen the movie, it was my favorite from last year and was loved by almost everyone that saw it. Take a chance and rent it for this weekend, you wont regret it. (buy)
Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead
Phillip Seymore Hoffman and Ethan Hawke are enough to make me want to see this, but it got pretty great reviews, even an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. This is a story about two brothers who decide to rob their own parents jewelry store. It’s also out on Blu-Ray! (buy)
Alien vs Predator and Predator
If you like these fun little alien horror action movies and you have Blu-Ray, this is your week. There is a two-pack edition with Alien vs. Predator and Alien vs. Predator: Requiem. You can also get Predator this week on Blu-Ray, which probably looks pretty darn good. (buy)
The Adams Chronicles
I’d never heard of this until today, but in 1976 this mini-series came out and won four Emm’ys and a Peabody award. It chronicles four generations of Adamses and 150 years of American history. Sounds pretty awesome and I might like to actually watch this sometime. (buy)
Also, if you are wanting to get the newest history of John Adams, you can pre-order the awesome HBO series right now for like $20 off the normal price. Giddiup!
The Bridge on the River Kwai: Two disc Collector’s Edition
One of the greatest war movies of all time, with Alex Guinness playing a British captive in a Japanese prison camp…my dad showed me this film and I’ve always loved it. Now there is a newly restored, two-disc edition that is supposed to be pretty great. (buy)

Looking forward to renting Juno so we can watch it again.
yeah, we’ve got this in the queue. Mike’s been raving about it, so it better be good.

Juno is such a good movie! I hope people who didn’t see it in the theater will rent it and finally experience it’s goodness.
Juno sucks!
I just wanted to make you think it’s not that good so you won’t have your hopes up when you watch it because when you get your hopes up really high no matter how good a movie is it can never seem to live up to your expectations and I would hate for you to watch Juno and think it’s not that good because everyone’s been saying how great it is and it is good but it’s not like the best movie ever made so I don’t want you going in thinking that it is and then watching it and thinking it’s not the best movie ever made and wondering why everyone raved so much about it because it wasn’t nearly as good as you thought it was going to be. I wouldn’t want that.
(But it’s actually pretty good.)
Mo or Jason did either of you see this: Alien vs. Predator: Requiem? I saw the first AvP and thought it was eh… didnt see the second so wasnt sure if eithe rof you did… or anyone really?
No, I haven’t Cap’n, but I want to anyways, just because I love a lame alien movie like that.
@ Jason - take a breath next time, punctuation is our friend.
I saw the first AVP on DVD and it wasn’t as bad as I thought, but it certainly didn’t need a sequel, but if I was in a sci fi mood and BSG wasn’t avail…who knows?
Scotty Dub’s last blog post..The Art and Anguish of the Presentation
No. I. Skipped. The. Sequel, But. I. Did. See. The. First. One. And. It. Wasn’t. As. Bad. As. I. Thought. It. Might. Be. I’ll. Probably. Watch. This. One. Too. When. I. Get. Some. Time.
That better, Mike?
@ Jason - Thanks, now I have a stuttering problem…
@ Scott - Woo, go rent BSG!
