Fox Gives The Ax To “Back To You”

In what is being considered a fairly surprising move, Fox has opted not to bring back the freshman comedy sitcom Back To You for a second season. The TV newsroom set show features veteran television stars Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton as well as Fred Willard and other up and coming actors.

No specific reason was given for the cancellation. However, Fox actually renewed the Brad Garrett and Joely Fisher led Til Death which will return for a third season. The two shows have been running in a block on Fox to decent but not spectacular ratings.

It is assumed that the marquee talent both in front of and behind the camera of Back To You caused the show to be far more expensive than Til Death which is the reason Fox has decided to not bring it back.

  1. This makes no sense to me. We watched both shows this season and Back to you was def the funnier of the two. Til Death started funny in season one, but got mired in some really not funny plotlines towards the end of this season and we gave up on it. Kelsey Grammar and Patricia Heaton were great together and the rest of the cast were quite good as well.

I heard rumors that NBC might pick this one up, I’m hoping they do.

  2. Frazier was a lot better. The older shows always seem to be a lot better.
