Network pickups, renewals and cancellations

This past weekend was wrought with network decisions over potential new series, the renewals of current series and the cancellation of others.

Not all of them are worth noting, because there are a ton, but Variety has a good overview of most of them.

I’m going to outline some of the highlights for me. I’ve scoured the web to find news on anything I can find, and will post updates as the networks start making official announcements.

ABC

  • Boston Legal renewed for a 5th season
  • Miss Guided and Eli Stone have a good chance of being picked up

FOX

  • Pilots getting picked up: Fringe (woo!), Dollhouse (double woo!), The Inn and Class Dismissed
  • Virtuality’s pilot hasn’t been shot yet, but is still on Fox’s radar
  • Til Death gets a third season, but Back to You is gone.

CBS

  • Nikki Finke says The Unit is likely to be picked up
  • Two new shows, The Mentalist and The 11th Hour are also likely to be picked up.

The CW

  • That’s right, the Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoff has been picked up. I’m actually looking forward to checking this out, word is that Jennie Garth is going to reprise her role as Kelly Taylor on a few episodes.
  • The CW is also partnering with Media Rights Capital, to have the company produce two comedies and two dramas for their Sunday night lineup, which will target the 18-49 demographic, which is different from their normal target audience.

More updates to come as we get them!
