Pop Critics gets Facebooked and Twitterized

One of our main focuses here at Pop Critics is the community. We always look at ways to involve you guys, because it just makes it that much more fun for all of us. Avatars, Ultimate Bad Ass…those are just awesome ways for all of us to get to know each other and grow as a little community of pop culture critics.

We’re also trying to branch out, and put Pop Critics out there in other places for people to find. We’re now hooked up on Twitter and also have a page on Facebook.

Twitter is a strange, highly addictive site, where people do nothing but post updates on their lives in short, 140 character bursts, and in turn follow other people’s updates.

I don’t know why it’s so addictive, but it’s actually kind of fun.

Pop Critics has its own Twitter profile on there now, and you can follow ALL our stories on Twitter now, just in case you weren’t using an RSS Reader or Email notifications, OR if you just want to follow us there!

Our Twitter page: http://twitter.com/popcritics

We’re also on Facebook as well, and I’m sure most of you know what that is. I know quite a few of you readers who are already on it, and have actually become fans of our new Pop Critics page.

It’s just a way to give us a presence there and grow the site. If you want to become a fan of Pop Critics on Facebook, go here (You need to be a member of Facebook of course):

So that’s it for now.

Although, that’s not going to be it for long. We hope.

Google announced a new service a few days ago called Google Friend Connect. Basically, they’ve developed an easy method for website owners to turn their sites into social communities. Instead of places like MySpace, or Facebook being the sole providers of social interaction, we’ll be able to put that kind of stuff ON OUR SITE.

Now, we don’t know for sure how that will play out or what it will look like. We do know that it should be easy to be a part of, and most of you already with Facebook or Google, or OpenID, will already be set when it comes out.

We signed up for the Beta to get on the cutting edge of it, and we’re hoping they send us an invite soon.

So that’s it for now, continue your early morning socializing.
