The “JCVD” trailer

Mark Verheiden posted this little blog yesterday about an upcoming movie called JCVD. You’d probably never guess what those four letter mean in a million years, or maybe you could if you have some kind of weird ability to see initials like that and expand them to full words.

Regardless, the suspense is over: It stands for Jean-Claude Van Damme.

This is a film in the same flavor of the upcoming My Name is Bruce starring Bruce Campbell. The film is a parody about Van Damme playing himself as a broken down action star lamenting his career. The movie debuted at Cannes last weekend and will be out on June 4 in France. It’s subtitled, although there looks to be quite a few English scenes in it from the previews.

Mark’s post about this was interesting, because as he points out, this could be the best film of Van Damme’s career. He mentioned Timecop as the last good one he did, and I have to agree. I don’t remember much from that movie, but I did like it.

Here is the trailer:

What do you think? Does it look good? Funny?
