The Scrubs season finale airs on Thursday night, which could be the last episode ever on NBC, but hopefully not the last one we’ll ever get to see.
There is still the rumors about ABC taking over production of Scrubs next year, so let’s all keep crossing our fingers on that. Zach Braff was asked recently about it, but everything is hush-hush right now.
He did say this though on his blog last week:
What I can tell you is that we are currently shooting 18 episodes for the 8th season. I am not allowed to discuss where one might watch them. (More news to come.)
But before it’s all over, we are getting the long-rumored Princess Bride episode, which pays homage to the cult classic fantasy comedy that we all love. At least I do.
Braff gives us the scoop on it:
But I can tell you that the coolest episode we’ve ever done is going to air on May 8th at 8:30(E/P). I directed it and it’s a GIANT homage to “The Princess Bride”. Dr. Cox has to make up a fairy tale for his son and he does so using everything that happened in the hospital that day. It’s by far the most epic (and expensive) episode we’ve ever done. (Monsters, potions, evil wizards, giants, hunchbacks, gnomes – like “World of Warcraft”, but Scrubs…)
I’ll be posting an exclusive clip on this site in a few days.
We’ll track his blog as usual and post a link to the exclusive clip whenever it’s available.
I’m psyched for this episode…Scrubs + The Princess Bride can only = gold.

Love PB, love Scrubs, this should be amazing. I’ve been looking forward to it since they announced they were doing this one. Curious to see how they fit it in to 30 mins, but it should be fun.

How can this not be completely awesome!
It’s not possible!
The Princess Bride is one of my most loved movies of all time. It comes on TV every now and again and I’ll always sit and watch. And of course, Jason always says, “You’re watching that AGAIN?” LOVE IT!
I’m very excited about Scrubs this week. I might have to miss the last 30 minutes of Surviver. Of course, there are always the weekly summaries of the show so I won’t miss much.
Yeah, but I’m the one writing the summaries…which means I’ll be missing all the Princess Bride/Scrubs goodness. Sad, sad day.
Of course, if you took your name seriously, you’d have a DVR and you could watch both!
If only…
I’ll take notes for him while I’m watching it.
That includes reenacting the choreographed songs… You know they’ll be at least one.
this should be good. it will be interesting to see what next season will be like.
Scrubs in Princess Bride style! This should be awesome! I can’t wait to see it. “Inconceivable”!!!!

without a doubt “my princess” was one of the best episodes so far but it really got me confused. where is kelso coming from all of the sudden? just in the episode before dr. cox was pronounced the new chief…so was it all just made up by cox tellling his son a story about something that happened a lor earlier? but it can’t really be old. carla punched turk in his ONE ball. He had it removed just 3 episodes earlier (my manhood). so maybe this episode was supposed to be the 9th one and not number 11 in this season. but even this doesn`t really make sense. because in the very beginning of my princess the old black receptionist that had died in the last season was there again. so…they got my confused!
happy to hear some new thoughts…
