What to rent: New DVD releases for 5/27/08

I skipped the What to Rent article last week because the titles available were just so sad that I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Case in point: The wife and I hit Blockbuster this weekend to find a few movies, and the newer stuff out there was pretty sad. We left with Mr. Brooks and The Brave One. Still haven’t watched either.

This week isn’t exactly better, but it’s got a few interesting new movies that could be worth your time.

Rambo (2008)

The latest sequel, which I still haven’t seen yet, arrives with a smorgasbord of offerings. There is the Blu-Ray edition, the Widescreen edition, the Rambo: Complete Collector’s Set (All four films), Rambo 1-3 on Blu-Ray and Rambo: Special Edition with Digital Copy.

A lot of hubbub for a movie that didn’t receive the greatest reviews. I sort of want to see it just because.

Grace is Gone

A film starring the wonderful John Cusack in which he plays the father of two girls who have lost their mother in the war over in Iraq. It received so-so reviews, but almost anything with Cusack in it is worth it to me.

The Three Stooges Collection, Vol. 2: 1937-1939

If you like the Three Stooges, I can’t imagine you wouldn’t like this 415 minute collection of their stuff from 1937 to 1939. Nyuk nyuk nyuk!
