Last week was incredibly busy for me and I somehow missed the news that the X-Files 2: I Want To Believe official trailer has been released! being released late tonight/tomorrow morning at 12:01 AM.
Update! Here it is!
In the midst of all the huge summer blockbusters, the X-Files sequel is probably getting lost in the shuffle. I have to think only the real X-Files fans are anticipating this film, while the casual moviegoer may not even really have it on their radar.
Well, hopefully after the trailer premiers, things will start heating up. I for one am starting to get excited for it, which is sure to grow after I get to see this thing.
Plus, a few viral videos have been released, which have Fox Mulder and Dana Scully being interviewed with questions about their partner.
They talk about “missing” each other, which could relate to the plot of the movie itself, or perhaps the length of time since we’ve seen them last.
The first X-Files movie premiered on June 19th, 1998, making it almost exactly 10 years ago that they were together on the big screen.
It’s also a meaningful date for me personally, as my wife and I got married that same day. The truth is, I was so pumped to see it, my groomsmen took me to watch it that same morning, the day it came out. It was an absolutely perfect weekend. *grin*
Enjoy the viral videos below.

Only a true movie fan or a Pop Critic would actually go see a movie on his wedding day. Nice.
I’m dedicated…and I can’t sleep, so I may be able to watch this thing when it goes live here in 20 minutes.
I’m actually up at 12:01 AM and the site just shows black…the countdown actually hit all zeros, then reset to a 23 hour countdown…then I reloaded, and it was dead.
Also, I wonder who I’m talking to at 12 in the morning…
I’m here, babe, just 8+ hours later… kind of like on the Lost island. Time travel is a tricky thing.
Leoben!
R.A. Porters last blog post..Friday Night Sketch War: Round Fourteen
I thought that too Porter! I was going to verify that, but totally got side-tracked
@ Jina - I think you meant time travel is a fickle bitch (Ben-ism)
Excellent trailer, builds some excitement without giving away anything. Which is a nice treat nowadays.
justins last blog post..X-Files YouTube Video chokes up David Duchovny.
I’m excited to see this movie too…One of the reasons is Fox Mulder
I agree Justin, I hate trailers that just tell you the entire story…cryptic ones are so much better.
For a person who is so scared of aliens she didn’t see E.T. until her freshman year of college…
I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!
This may not have anything to do with aliens though, but we’ll see.
@AnaDVR - After you watched it, did you phone home?
@ Mike: Of course it’s going to have aliens in it! That’s Mulder’s bestest, favoritest thing!
@ Jason: No.
