We haven’t really talked about “Eleventh Hour” much, but that’s probably because there are so many other sci-fi type shows hitting the airwaves come next Fall. However, the American version is based on a pretty expensive British production that starred Patrick Stewart that was quite successful. Jerry Bruckheimer himself is producing it for CBS and the wonderful Rufus Sewell is starring in it. It’s being compared to “CSI” and “The X-Files.” That should be enough to get anyone’s attention.
Even better is the fact that the show is about a special science adviser to the government (Sewell) who, with his feisty female bodyguard Rachel (Marley Shelton) in tow, saves people from the worst abuses of science. Just vague enough to peak our interest without giving away anything at all.

Rufus Sewell stars in “Eleventh Hour” as Dr. Jacob Hood, a brilliant biophysicist and special science advisor to the government. His jurisdiction is absolute and Hood is dogged in his pursuit of those who would abuse and misuse scientific discoveries and breakthroughs for their own gain.

Special Agent Rachel Young (Marley Shelton) is a decorated FBI protection officer assigned to watch over Dr. Jacob Hood in “Eleventh Hour”.

We need someone to protect us from Hollywood's abuses of science. To wit, the CSIs and Numb3rs.
Mentioning CSI makes me worried about endlessly watching autopsies and re-enactments of horrible injuries. If it has a lot of that, I'm not interested. Hopefully the whole CSI craze will slow down a little.
CSI was good, but Numbers…man, I actually thought the show was GOOD and the acting decent, but I couldn't get past the idea that this guy used math to solve problems every week. It just seemed highly implausible to the point I couldn't want it anymore.
Yeah, I'm totally over those CSI shows now, they've run their course.
I do love this cast though, I think it should be an interesting series.
What is with all the sci-fi in the fall? Will there be any other shows on???
No babe, get used to it! You will be a sci-fi JUNKY by the end of the 2008-09 season!
That doesn't sound very pleasant.
I might revolt just because of it. More Gossip Girl, more Hills, more HGTV!
Get a rope.
You mean, to rope in all the good shows I will be watching??
Sure…sure, that's what I meant…
That was my problem too. Apply an algorithm to the bank robbery and the solution to the equation will be the bad guys home address.
Private Practice will be back next fall. Don't forget!
