David Archuleta Signs Record Deal

David Archuleta may have come in second place in the season finale of “American Idol” Season 7, but that isn’t stopping him from moving forward with his career.

Much like past Idol runner-ups, Archuleta was quick to sign a record deal. Details of the deal aren’t known, but it is expected that Archuleta will release an album later this year.

This season Archuleta was widely expected to win the top rated talent show on televison, but he lost to rival David Cook on the program’s final episode in May by 12 million votes.

Simon Fuller, creator of “American Idol” and founder of 19 Entertainment Label Group, said Archuleta instantly won over a huge audience and has a great future ahead of him.

  2. What’s the over/under on his Dad being the executive producer on the debut album?

  3. It’s called a parental money grab. He’s probably his manager, too.

  4. That wouldn’t surprise me in the least. His dad is going to gravy train that to death.

  5. I’ll bet he’s going to earn more than than he would of working that summer job Burger King.

  6. Maybe. I guess it will all depend on how big dad’s cut of the pie is. When it’s all said and done - he might wish he was working at Burger King instead of working for the Burger King.

  7. LOL!
