I posted the teaser poster for Bolt just the other day and let you all know that this will be Disney’s first non-Pixar computer animated offering. No one seemed to care. I’m not sure I cared that much. But now we have a trailer to go along with the poster and the synopsis.
I have to be honest. This actually looks pretty decent even if it does feature the voice talents of John Travolta and Miley Cyrus. The preview made me laugh out loud a couple of times even after I’d already seen it. Nowadays, that actually counts for something. Although, a part of me kind of wants to see the movie they’re showing us at the beginning of the trailer.
The trailer for Bolt was attached to Wall-E this weekend so a bunch of you probably saw it. If not then here’s your chance.
For super-dog Bolt (voiced by John Travolta), every day is filled with adventure, danger and intrigue – at least until the cameras stop rolling. When the canine star of a hit TV show is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood soundstage to New York City, he begins his biggest adventure yet – a cross-country journey through the real world. Armed only with the delusions that all his amazing feats and powers are real, and with the help of two unlikely traveling companions – a jaded, abandoned housecat named Mittens (voiced by Susie Essman), and TV-obsessed hamster in a plastic ball named Rhino – Bolt discovers he doesn’t need superpowers to be a hero. Miley Cyrus (“Hannah Montana”) brings her vocal talents to the role of Penny, Bolt’s human co-star on the television series.
The film also features the voice talents of Thomas Haden Church, Woody Harrelson, Mario Cantone, and Bruce Greenwood.
Bolt hits theaters on November 26th 2008. The film will be released in Digital Disney 3-D on 1,200 to 1,500 screens domestically.

“A manky old cat”… lol whaa?? I'm not quite sure what that means.. However the whole dog w/ double identity thing is interesting I guess. I do think it LOOKS good (eyecandy wise).. Just haven't been really captivated by the whole digital animation thing yet unless it's in a video game. Maybe this'll change things tho
Eh…it's Disney and not Pixar - that's probably just enough reason for me NOT to see it.
“this will be Disney’s first non-Pixar computer animated offering.”
Uh, sorry, but what? Dinosaur. Chicken Little. Meet the Robinsons. This is not the first.
Speaking of Meet the Robinsons, that was a very nice movie, which I why I have faith that this is going to be a good one too. I mean, they’ve got Lasseter at th helm of Disney Animation now. (fistpump)
