Hollywood has so many remakes on the drawing boards they don’t even want to call them remakes anymore. This time they’re calling the Nicolas Cage starring and Werner Herzog directed version of Bad Lieutenant a “reimagining” so they won’t have to feel like they’re the ones committing a rape.
Bad Lieutenant (the first one) was made in 1992 and starred Harvey Keitel as a corrupt cop investigating a nun’s rape. It was directed by Abel Ferrara from a screenplay by Ferrara and Zoe Lund. The “reimagining” was written by Billy Finkelstein.
Eva Mendes, who helped Cage stink up theaters all across the world with Ghost Rider, is in negotiations to join this nonsensical project.
Filming is set to begin in late summer.

J, tell us how you really feel about Ghost Rider.
“Reimagining” a movie from 16 years is bad, but a movie about a nun being raped? Worse.
Yeah, I don't see the point.
Well, I'm in full agreement - Ghost Rider was a terrible movie (memo: I want my 2 hours back!). “Reimaging” is a stupid word, if anything is getting raped it's the English language and my intelligence.
as the Hero fan, Ghost Rider blew chunks…same bad par as DareDevil…. hers another movie I'll skip,. sounds bad all around
Sounds like trash but adding Eva Mendes is a step in the right direction…
That's…I'm…what?
This movie might blow. And Herzog isn't my cup of tea. However, he's an extremely accomplished and well respected director. Mendes is a hack who makes everything she touches worse for her involvement. Think Hitch was a bad movie? It was. But that nauseous feeling that accompanied it? All Mendes.
She was the worst thing in Ghost Rider and *that* movie had Nick Cage!
Hmm…I don't know. At least Mendes is nice to look at. Cage can't even claim that.
True, but his HEAD became a FLAMING SKULL!!!
Maybe I'd like her better if she could do that.
Thanks for sharing
