Yesterday Jason posted an article about Sprague Grayden signing on with 24, and some backlash was received by his notation that essentially Jericho was finished.
Well, I would have agreed with him as well, but apparently we were so very wrong. At least, the fans of Jericho out there haven’t even gotten close to giving up yet.
And heck, even the producers are still talking about the potential of keeping it alive. There are posts over on the Jericho Net forums about how meetings were taking place just in the last few weeks to keep the show alive.
That website also pointed out the fact that Carol Barbee, producer of Jericho, made a statement a week ago that cast some positive light on the matter. From Need2No2 (the site’s moderator), over on the forums:
Carol Barbee called into Shaun O’Mac’s radio show over the holiday weekend and stated - as a fact - that negotiations were continuing and that Season 3 was still on the table. When asked, Ms. Barbee also said that the actors were interested in returning to the show.
There is also a GIANT billboard in Studio City, California that was just put up recently. It’s VERY close to some important, large studios, like NBC Universal, which happens to be the parent of the Sci Fi channel.
I am pretty sure I’ve said it before, but if Jericho moved to Sci Fi, that would be awesome. There was a video made of the billboard being put up as well, which you can see over on YouTube.com and the picture of the sign is below.
I’ve always been a guy who has gotten beyond upset when my shows have been canceled. Firefly, Sports Night, and more recently Journeyman and Jericho.
And while I try to do what I can to save them, I do not get into the massive efforts that some fans out there help spawn and see to fruition. I admire their efforts and dedication, but it’s just not something I do.
However, I really and truly hope that the fans over on Jericho Net and other fans sites make a difference. Keep us informed on how we can help.

Man - with all the furor over this one show, I might actually have to watch it. Unfortunately its not on Hulu, so I guess I will have to watch it the new-old fashion way - renting the previous seasons…

Let me just say…while I loved the show, I wouldn’t say it was up to par with other canceled series, like Journeyman or even Firefly a long time ago.
I mean, I got into it every week, I loved the action, I liked Skeet and the cast was fun…but it really was just an OKAY series.
But there was something about it that made it more appealing than most OKAY series I guess.
Trousered Ape - you can see all the eps at http://www.Fancast.com which is owned by Comcast (which might just be a future investor in Jericho) or at http://www.cbs.com/jericho.
To Mike and Jason - thank you for your coverage of our efforts; we really do appreciate it.
As to joining in an effort to bring back a TV show, I would have bet my house that I would never do anything like THAT if you had asked me a couple of years ago. But a person can take just so much. For me, personally, this campaign has been about standing up and being heard and acknowledged as the consumer.
As to Jericho - I really cannot say what it is about the show. It just strikes a chord - ya know. It means different things to different people. For me it was - “Holy crap; what would I do in a situation like that?” I guess in the times we live in, we all acknowledge (even a little bit)that a terrorist attack of some sort is very possible and it just could be at a place near you next! Ever since 9/11 it has been so apparent that our infrastructure is way too out of date to handle it, but what are we doing about it? Katrina pointed out that it does not have to be a terrorist attach, but an Act of God and we are not prepared for it. Bridge collapses; tornados - disaster takes many forms. Jericho asked the hard questions, but there were some hotties to look at while thinking about our mess! LOL.
Now Jericho has become the poster child for fixing TV and acknowledging the viewer as being the consumer. If TV is going to move to the Internet; just do it! Put us out of our misery already and let’s have some entertainment other than the crap that’s on now.
So let’s all fans of all shows cancelled already or not join together. Let’s face it, if your show wasn’t cancelled last Fall - it was probably an accident and it will be the next to go. Make a stand NOW!
Gracias - I’ll check them out.

Thank you for the positive article. As far as letting you know what you can do to help, I personally would LOVE it if we could get some coverage about the DVDs for our Troops capaign that has been ongoing. We at JNET are trying to get at minimum 100 dvds of season two ordered for our troops by June 14. Currently I think we are at 74 (this without the various donations that have not yet been turned into movie purchases) Check out jnet for more info on the DVDs for our troops campaign! thanks, jeanna
Thank you for writing this. As a Jericho fan, I appreciate the coverage of the campaign.
Thanks for helping us get the word out.
If you want more Jericho please write to: Ms. Nancy Tellem, President, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group, 4024 Radford Avenue, Studio City, CA 91604-2190.
Ask her to continue to produce Jericho and sell it to another network. These letters need to go out now, if we wish to save Jericho.

Thanks!
Thank you Mike and Jason for the wonderful coverage of our efforts to save Jericho!!! And Thank you for taking the time to come to Jerichonet2 to check out all the info that we have available over there. We will most definitely keep you informed of any new info that we receive. Hopefully we will be hearing some awesome news very soon!!!
Great website, cool article! I came across this on Stumble Upon and I’m so glad that I did. I am a Jericho fan as well =)
Thanks Antiques, hope you stop by again!
I was out on sick leave and happened to see the show at CBS.com just three episodes before the second cancellation. The pilot hooked me. And I could not believe CBS was letting this one die on the vine because of Neilsen’s ‘guesstimation’ of 6 million viewers. Please. I’m in the demographic, live in a major market and didn’t hear about this fantastic show? Who’s fault is that? Yeah, I’m ready to move the earth, the moon and mars to get “Jericho” back on the air somewhere.
Definitely seems like a major problem with these shows sometimes is the lack of promotion on the part of the network.
thanks guys for the coverage!!!! i am an international jericho ranger and i can say that the only other show that had me so hooked was MASH….
Hi! Hey, thanks so much for the JERICHO coverage!
The fans of JERICHO really appreciate it. We have
worked SO HARD for SO LONG to get someone to listen to
us. If JERICHO is so special to so many of us, it’s got to be a special show…and it IS!
It’s different, exciting, heartwarming, funny, sad, witty, just everything you’d want a show to be.
I really like Skeet as Jake and LOVED Gerald McRaney as Johnston. The rest of the cast is very cool too!
Thanks for the coverage on our continued fight to save Jericho. I have never before been a part of a fanbase effort to save a show… but never before have I felt that there was a show that needed to have the story play out as much as I do with Jericho. CBS did not do the show justice. They didn’t market enough or effectively and that combined with a poor time slot and lengthy writer’s strike was not enough to give Jericho a fair chance. Let alone the millions that watch via internet/cable!! I only happened upon the show when I first started watching. It wasn’t advertising from CBS that had me tuning in.
Thanks again for helping raise awareness on our continued efforts to bring Jericho to a new home– with execs that know how to handle it!
