Some New Yorkers not excited for “The Happening”
The Movie Blog posted this yesterday after getting it emailed to them from a ton of people. Apparently it’s a picture of a poster in New York for The Happening that has been a bit…vandalized.
Considering a lot of the hatred people have with disappointing M. Night Shyamalan movies, this poster seems to be an outlet for all of that pent up anger.
Sort of NSFW, but it’s hilarious.

1. Sixth Sense = Horror/mystery/ghosts
2. Unbreakable = Genetic polarity theory
3. Signs = Crop circles.
4. The Village = A period/romance piece.
5. The Lady in the Water = a children's bedtime story or modern day myth.
6. The Happening = not sure yet, but looks like the end of the word/Virus idea (like 28 days or RE).
These are basic descriptions, because I don't want to give away the movies in each case. Each time one of his movies comes out they are ALWAYS marketed as Horror.... and that is just dumb/deceptive. So people go see them for a horror flick and when it doesn't pan out and they get an urban ledged or good story, they are upset. It is all about perception/anticipation. When I go to his films I know this.

-Unbreakable could have been worse, but it was simply godawful boring and about the most plodding story you could imagine. The twist was ok, but I really didn't care at that point so it didn't much matter.
-Signs wasn't boring, but when the aliens showed up (both of them) it was kinda corny.
-The Village -- really, who couldn't see the twist coming before even halfway through the movie? Plus the idea of the blind girl heading off by herself...that's just stupid.
-Didn't see the Lady in Water.
Much like Jean Claude Van Damme, he peaked with his first movie. Unlike JCVD, his first movie was really good. He should have only been allowed to do episodes of The Twilight Zone or that other similar show after it. He could probably acceptably do 22 minute stories.

I understand when people say they don't like his films, but I personally don't agree with them. I have yet to see The Happening and I think it looks a bit scary from the previews I have seen. What does everyone else think about the Happening?

I would give you the other two MAYBE, but Lady in the Water was just...ugh.
As far as The Happening, I haven't heard great buzz about it so far, but I'll go see it anyways.
