Stan Winston Dies of Cancer at 62

Hollywood special effects legend Stan Winston has died of cancer at the age of 62. 

According to a representative from Stan Winston Studios, the three time Oscar-winning visual effects artist died at his home Sunday evening surrounding by family after a seven year struggle with multiple myeloma. 

Winston’s line of credits is too long to list in this article, but he won Oscar for the visual effects work he did for Aliens (1986), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1992) and Jurassic Park (1993).  He most recently did the special effects for Iron Man and was already working on Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins when he passed away.

Stan Winston was born in 1946.  He is survived by his wife, Karen; a son, daughter, brother and four grandchildren.
