Christian the Lion - He’ll make you cry

I saw this video on The Today Show this morning, and found out that it’s blazing across the web and making the entire world smile.
It’s about Christian, a lion that was raised by two guys back in 1969. They had to release him to the wild and didn’t try to see him again until a year later, after he was already the head of his own pride.
Watch it…and if your eyes don’t leak a few tears, then you must not love animals and are generally a mean person.
Kidding…but truly, this video is a tear-jerker.
And this is apparently the conclusion to the story, which may add more tears to your wet eyes.
Christian left the Kora Reserve in 1973. He made his new territory along the Tana river, but when the Wakamba herdsmen kept bringing their livestock to his hunting ground, he moved on. George Adamson said in his autobiography, “I used to count the days on which we hadn’t seen Christian, but when they reached 97, I gave up recording them in my diary.” Because a lion can live from 12 to 15 years in the wild, Adamson believed that Christian ended his days in the Meru National Reserve only a few miles up river.
I don’t even know him, but somehow…I miss Christian the Lion.
