Quick Poll: “The Dark Knight” weekend box office

Nothing but Dark Knight posts from now until Friday!

Okay, we’re kidding, but truly, this is one of those moments in entertainment history that we could be talking about for awhile. The Dark Knight has the potential to be a groundbreaking film in terms of the way it used IMAX to film certain scenes, and of course some of the talk about Oscar nominations for the movie itself and possibly Heath Ledger, all for a superhero summer blockbuster!

People are in love with this movie already and haven’t even seen it yet. You should check out the Rotten Tomatoes page for Knight. It’s getting a 90% right now, but it was closer to 100% a few days back. The hilarious part is the negative reviews. You can comment over there on all their reviews, and the negative ones have hundreds of opinions bashing the reviewer, while the good ones only have single digit comments.

Seems like these negative reviewers are calling the film too serious. Apparently they don’t read comic books and want to go back to the Michael Keaton days with Ahnold as Dr. Freeze. No thank you!

Needless to say, the hype for this movie is staggering. I’m not sure if I’ve seen anything like it. The prediction for the weekend box office are all over the place. Can it break the $150 million record that Spiderman 3 set?

By the way, my poll may suck, but saying More than 120 million doesn't mean you win if it's over 160 million

I'm going to guess $187M for the three-day frame. Which is INSANE.

What's more insane? I think it's going to have some serious legs and see less than a 35% drop off in week two. I'm going to guess cumes for the year between $650M and $750M worldwide.

I picked over $180 million too…that's beyond insane.

Going to be fun to see the actual numbers.
