Millar reveals the cover for War-Heroes #3

War-Heroes is an interesting series so far and I’m looking forward to #2 sometime this month. Mark Millar is the writer and Tony Harris does the art for this soldier-superhero comic book adventure.

I reviewed the first issue last month, and you can read it here to get a good idea of what War-Heroes is all about.

But even as we’re still waiting for #2, Millar and Harris posted the sketch for #3’s cover on their forum and it’s pretty crazy looking.

Terrorists with super powers? Here’s Millar:

I hereby declare issue three the best cover ever.

Wait until you see this fight. I think we’ve created a really good villain here.

MM

I started out having a tough time with this cover. Maybe my eyes just couldn’t see it for some reason, but I just wasn’t getting the whole picture. Fans over on the forums are going nuts and Millar is beyond proud of it, but I had blinders on.

But I think I get it now. and it’s awesome.

Obviously there are American fighters in the background against the Sun (or Moon?), and there is a terrorist that appears to be on the wing of a plane. After close examination, you can clearly see he’s standing on the wing of another American fighter, and that’s the helmet of the pilot on the bottom-left of the cover, with his head turned towards Mr. Terrorist.

Terrorists attacking fighters in midair! I have to admit, this is a pretty bad-ass cover, sure to raise some heads.

What do you think of it? And are you reading War-Heroes yet?
