Steve Carell and Tina Fey Sign Up For Date Night

Variety has reported that Steve Carell and Tina Fey are set to play a married couple in Date Night, a 20th Century Fox comedy to be directed by Shawn Levy.

The film is written by Josh Klausner and is about a couple who find their routine date night becomes much more than just dinner and a movie.

Carell and Fey are, of course, the darlings of NBC with their hit shows, The Office and 30 Rock respectively, garnering much critical praise (both actors and both shows are up for Emmys). The film will begin production next year when both stars are on a scheduled hiatus from their shows.

Both actors are coming off recent comedy hits. Carell starred in Get Smart this summer while Fey had Baby Mama this spring. I personally can’t think of a better combination of comedians right now to play a married couple in a movie like this. Both of these actors are just absolutely hilarious and I can only imagine what they’ll bring to the film. Let’s just hope it lives up to my already sky high expectations.
