I’m not sure what this means for its US television run, but CTV has ordered a second season of its original series Flashpoint from Toronto based Pink Sky Entertainment and Avamar Entertainment.
In Canada, Flashpoint has been a huge hit since it premiered last month, and was actually the summer’s most watched scripted series. Flashpoint bested coverage of the Beijing Olympic Games in both weeks of Olympic broadcasts in Toronto. A total of 13 new episodes are expected to head into production in early 2009.
“Flashpoint has hit its mark with North American audiences and remained competitive - even during the Olympics,” said Susanne Boyce, President, Creative Content and Channels, CTV Inc. “Viewers have embraced Flashpoint and we are answering their call for more. The cast and creative team have delivered a series that not only entertains with high-intensity drama but with heart as well.”
“We’re excited that Canadian audiences have responded with such enthusiasm to Flashpoint’s stories of humanity and adrenaline,” said Flashpoint Executive Producers Anne Marie La Traverse and Bill Mustos. “We’re extremely proud to have this opportunity to bring more of our homegrown stories to viewers in Canada and around the world.”
Like I said, I don’t know if this means there are plans to air a second season on US television or not. I’m not even sure if they finished airing the first season on US television. Anyone out there keep watching Flashpoint in the US after the first week or two?

I gave up on it, just wasn't interesting enough. Kind of funny it beat out the Olympics in ratings, lol. I think that's because it took Canada like a week to actually win a single medal?
Never heard of it.
Really? Do you read this site?
Only the stuff you write. =D
